Most epoxy floor failures in Kenya are not product failures — they are specification and preparation failures. Before we quote, we test the substrate for moisture, check the concrete's surface tensile strength and map how the space is actually used.
Thickness follows load. A light-duty roller coat at 300 microns is perfect for a dry store, but a forklift-served warehouse needs a 2mm self-levelling build with a chemical resistant top coat. Laboratories and hospitals need non-porous, coved details rather than raw thickness.
Preparation is non-negotiable. Diamond grinding to open the concrete pores, crack stitching, and joint treatment account for a significant share of programme time — and all of the long-term adhesion.
Finally, plan for the finish you need underfoot. Anti-slip aggregate in wash-down areas, matt top coats where glare matters, and clear line marking to organise circulation and improve safety.
